Re: POST OLD PICTURES of CORVETTES HERE - NOSTALGIA

Here's a picture I took of Ed Mueller driving the Daytona Yellow ZL1 on the street at Bloomington,1988. I believe the L88's were leaving the display field and being driven over to the Bone Center building for the Special Collection display. Ed owned the car at that point and I believe it is with Roger Judski today. Note the "Zayre" sign in the background.

Here's a photo of me, my sisters, and their friend with his 1960. Picture was taken April 14, 1963. I was 9 years old. I remember getting rides in his car now and then. And to think that one day I would get my own 60 Corvette when I was 23. I have no idea what those hubcaps were from.

love the caps, and the hair dos... the fabulous 60s!

old vettes always made great chairs. People loved to sit on them.

That is one STOUT wheelie bar - looks to add a ton of weight to the car!

I guess they were hoping for some last minute Christmas shoppers. Although not Corvette related, I also found this vintage gas mask, skateboard and radio. It appears that this stuff was in the attic for a long time. The previous owners lived in the house many years, and might have been the original owners.
Love the vintage items - really sums up the '50s.

Great photo Pete!.... to the best of my recollection those crab-style four bar spinner caps were from a 1959 Dodge Lancer.
You neglected to mention who your bashful four-legged buddy was, cute puppy! Who took the photo? Car appears white/silver coves, same as mine, if it was.
              Thanks for sharing..

The pooch was a German Shepherd named Sandy owned by Lee, the guy holding him safely and who owns the car. If I remember, my mom took the photo. You are correct on the car being white with silver coves. But, I can't remember the color of the interior. Too bad all these photos were in B/W.

Hi again Pete, thank your for your courteous reply, my car's interior is red. I'm certain you probably already know the other interior color options with Ermine White exterior were: Blue / Black / Turquoise. Being a passenger in a Vette as a nine year old would certainly have rung all the bells with me! Hottest car I ever got to ride around in at nine was my Dad's new 1952 Studebaker Champion!

This quiet Sunday evening prompted me to reflect on my advancing years
and how rapidly life has gone by. Many of you, also sharing senior status socially
have probably had similar feelings. I hope the lyrics in the attached video clip strikes a chord
within you as meaningfully as it did for me....Best to Everyone!

I understand what you mean. You have to keep moving and get out of your comfort zone, push limits physically. I'm doing things at 65 that I wouldn't have attempted 30 years ago and it keeps me healthy.

Here's an old slide/photo I once found online. If I recall from years ago, the photographer was an intern.
In the hi-res PDF attachment, you can even zoom in to read some of the names on the work shirts.
The fiberglass build process, seems very similar to this 1953 Corvette video: CLICK HERE
