Metal vacuum line for 1970 350/350 that goes between the carb & TCS valve.

I wish I had known about the alt. as I have one and can't stand anyone having to use the guy you went to to get yours. Mine is a 23 March 1968 one I think as it is in storage, and not a restamp. I see yours is a 66 though.

Add to that the 1100882 and 1100884 alternators.

            Dale,

Maybe I should have posted on here that I was looking for an alternator. Chicago Corvette came through on this one, they sent the core to John Pirkle for me. I got it back from him restored and am a happy camper. Don't get me started on my other experiences with Chicago Corvette, though.

I have been told that 65 396 starters are very tough to come by.

Re: What is the hardest to get part?

The VIN tag was a part that was never available to the public so it doesn't count.

Sure it was... That's why we have an NCRS rule that specifically addresses such. See the NCRS Corvette Judging Reference Manual, Section 1, Rule 1:

"....Should a car appear with a Chevrolet (GM) issued duplicate VIN plate, it must be accompanied with acceptable documentation from the Chevrolet Division of General Motors confirming issuance..."

The Catch-22 is that program has been discontinued for many years now.

My 66 L-72 came with the 67 L-71 heads (3904391) at no extra charge. I found some of the proper 858 heads. Unfortunately, the heads I have are date coded nine months apart (G96 - July 66 and D17 - April 67). I've been looking for singles that match my dates for quite a while trying to put together some pairs. I've put a couple ads in the driveline - no dice so far. Wah!

I think there's a certain PCV valve that comes to mind.

What's the number of the certain PCV valve Doc???

If Pirkle restored it, it isn't a repop. He told me when he gets one, he sends it back to the shipper.

the 4spd is harder to find.

72 (1 year only) vac tube for the BB TCS system.

Exhaust clamps for 2.5" (head pipe to mid pipe) for 72 (still looking for these). They are not the same ones used from 70-71. look completely different. Would be VERY appreciative for a lead on this item...

To add to your carb comment... A 7042216 early October build, certainly not too many of these made early in the run and I don't have the allowed six months prior to help supply me with one.

Also a rear defogger switch, not the knob, the switch. 2 trips to carlisle, most that I asked politely said they didn't have one and few even showed that they knew what it was!
