      Re: 1965 L78 Register

      Tom - Not sure we can tell when the entries were added but it looks like that Red Coupe, VIN #17706, is posted on C2Registry.org list and the xls spreadsheet that Gary Cowans started here on the NCRS site. Nice looking Coupe.

        Re: 1965 L78 Register

        I looked at the wrong year on C2 Registry (I have done that before.) and concluded 17706 was not there. That's why I posted it.

          Tom - You're not alone on that one, when I've come across what I see as a yet unlisted L78, I do a quick scan of the C2 Registry and then send Gary an email, all along, thinking I've made a new discovery...only to find out I was on the wrong year list or I had scanned way too fast and just overlooked the fact that it was there already.

                    2157 were built. Noland's book says 748 were Coupes. I don't know of a crashed dismantled list.

                      If you search here for 16120, you can see discussion by the late Bill Williamson about a 396 engine block.
                      https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...ighlight=16120
                      In this discussion, he stated the engine was removed from 16120 when the Corvette was about one year old. I don't know where the car is.

                      He also owned a maroon convertible which is on your list.

                        Tom - I chatted with Bill Williamson a number of years ago when I had run across a few 65 L78's so he could add them to his list but don't recall seeing Bill's name listed on the list that Gary Cowans has put together, do you happen to know the VIN and who might own it now?

                            Tom,
                            I have added Bill Williamson's engine onto the list.
                            On the list now we have three unknown Coupe or Convertibles;
                            194?75S115822 - Charlie Steuart's L78.
                            194?75S116120 - Bill Williamson L78 engine.
                            194?75S119972 - Engine for sale on the C2 Corvette Forum.

                              We have found this old Post on the Forum and Bill says in Post # 7 he had 402 L78's on his list. The post goes on to mention a few more L78's, some of which are on my list. It is a shame this list is lost to time.
                              Are you sure no one has his list?
                              We have 243 on our public list.
