What are you going to do with your car?

Thanks to Scott Nelson for sharing his story with me. He has a great 66 big block (Dads66).

Granddad bought it, Dad takes care of it now, Someday........

Caught in the act 5 am

I woke up about 5 am , heard noise out side, caught like a deer in headlights, Klaus at work, common trait among the members visited

            Thanks James,

I met up with Joe at a car show. He had his 57 Chevy Wagon with him. Here are some pictures.

Joe was the Cal Club SCCA Pacific Coast Champ in A/P in 1962. He bought Dave MacDonald's 1961 Corvette winning race car at the end of the 61 season, after he returned from an Army tour in Korea. Over the winter he installed the then new 327/360hp engine and raced against Dave, Paul Reinhart , Doug Hooper and the other Corvettes of the western states.

He later bought Dave's 57 Corvette that he raced successfully thru the 1965 season. He was also a member of the Shelby Cobra team from 1962-64 racing and also performing other duties that all team members did.

A fun "quiet hero" from back in the day. Glad you guys hooked up.

                Made it to Nevada City

I had an unbelievable time in Redding CA, over 20 long and short time owners showed up. I will post pictures of it later. Thanks to Jack Grisham and the two car clubs of Redding.

I left Redding and have landed at Roy Braatz home at Bears End , Nevada City, CA

He fixed my car. It seems that that a few of the experts who have help me along the missed my Upper Arm Bushings that were ready to fall out.

I couple of quick turn of the wrench on the bolts saved the day.

First thing Roy looked for after my concerns of my wheel falling off.

                    Hey Jack,

Just following your posts and driving vicariously with you! I noticed the F-4 Phantom decal on your car, are you an Ex-Rhino driver? I'm a C-17 pilot in the reserves. Keep us posted and enjoy the ride!

Hi, no I am not, but in 1970 I bought my car from a Navy Pilot leaving for Nam. His gold wings are still on my glove box, and that decal is an original decal, replacing the one that was on the vent window when I bought the car.

                            Jim to the rescue

I had the opportunity to visit Jim Lockwood and his wife, while near Nevada City. Jim and his wife have a great collection of cars, including a 61 fuel injected, and of car the Grand Sport he races. Lots of racing and car knowledge.
