Re: Pictures of Zora Duntov Home
Aaaaaahhhhh, yes, the good old days and Sunoco 260.........38 cents a gallon in 1970!!! Burned it all the time in my '66 L79. Once in a while 250 when I felt cheap, but only rarely. I suppose 250 was adequate (after all the L79 was only 11 to 1, not 12.5 to 1), but I tried to treat it right.

Re: Pictures of Zora Duntov Home
My dad and I kept a log of ethyl ("fill it with ethyl") prices for our '59:
1960: 36.9
1963: 37.9
1967: 38.9
I know some of that would have been Sunoco 260.

Re: Pictures of Zora Duntov Home
In 1972 I was a contract worker for the phone company servicing line trucks and vans. The main garage had an old curved top Gulf gas pump (40's vintage?, 50's vintage?) behind it that I used to top off the trucks before the morning shift. The pump said 25 cents.- Top

[quote=Ronald Lovelace (50931);498781]Wasn't gas only 45 to 50 cents in the mid 70's after the Iran thing calmed down?
I'm not sure but I remember gas at 79 cents in the 70's. However, this may have been during the embargo.- Top

Re: Pictures of Zora Duntov Home
Just back from NCM. Here is another picture of Zora Duntov Home, with Zora and his 74 bigblock posed in front. Apparently painted by Elfi in 1992. There was lots of info on Zora's vette, but not one word about the portrait.

Re: Pictures of Zora Duntov Home
The total points have more like 900 to 1000 houses for sale, Zora's is only one of 5 nice houses on that street alone. The real problem lies with those that bought in the 2000 - 2005 time frame, they can't get out from underneath for half of what they paid.- Top
