Re: Parts and cars for sale/wanted section

I would very much appreciate a parts section on the NCRS site. I would think that it will require someone else a great deal of effort. I wonder if it would with time make the Driveline redundant? Personally I would much rather deal with a fellow NCRS member than a stranger on E-Bay. Generally my Driveline arrives in Perth, Western Australia a week or two after I read of people posting on the board that they have recieved theirs. A parts section on the NCRS site would level the buying field in that everyone would potentially be able to see parts for sale a the same time not 2 weeks late.. I'm all for it!

OK, I'm probably the only one, so excuse my ignorance, but who or how do I find my representative?

I joined NCRS on the web site and probably missed something. Help would be appreciated.

Re: Parts and cars for sale/wanted section

I agree with having a section for sale/wanted. DOn't know what the expense of publishing the Driveline, but it could be eliminated if the info was available on this board site. I know it would be a lot cheaper and eveything could be saved on anyones computer. As Larry the Cable guy would say "git er done".

Nope David, you're not the only one, I'm in that same boat with you. Join online.

Soooooo.......... as David asked......Who or how do we find our representative???

          Thanks in advance.

P.S. As someone else mentioned we need to go through the "right" channels. I don't believe there is any intent to step on anyones toes. We should look at this as a positive step to help advance the "Corvette hobby" we all love so much.

Scroll down to the section that says "Directors" and find the one who represents your state or region

I think it would be a great idea. I would rather deal with a knowledgeble member any day. I think it would generate new member interest. Let's see if we can get some of the powers to be to respond.

As one who's all for this, I read my Restorer which came today--
                    Page 48, toward the bottom:
                    The board approved the following:
-An online trial of the Driveline. This trial period will allow us to work out the bugs and determine the feasibility for an online Driveline.

Seems to me that our board is listening--or am I missing something?>

Re: Parts and cars for sale/wanted section

I hope our Board is listening, too. Please write your NCRS representative in case he's not reading this thread. I think a 'classifieds' section would be very helpful and fun for all of us. I don't 'deal' in parts, but I have some nice ones that I'd make available to NCRS members who needed them; I'd never list them on eBay so that a complete stranger would wind up with them and do Gawd-knows-what with them. Just re-sell them to turn a buck?

I don't want to be pushy, but I think now is the time to act. This thread has had 53 replies at last count, all in favor, so the interest is there. The Board has approved an online trial of The Driveline; all that's left to do is make it a dynamic version (or whatever the correct techno-lingo is).

Just to let you know, the board is currently investigating the possibilities of creating an equivalent of the Driveline online as part of a larger IT improvement program. The format and functionality is under investigation. If you have any constructive ideas or you want to volunteer to help setting this up (by investing your time to make this happen) please contact your board representative (see NCRS Contact page for personal details.).

Well, whenever I get the new Driveline, I'll be sure to look, sometime in the few weeks would be nice

I'd like to see a for sale section added to the NCRS website.

It seems that this software is about the same as the CORVETTE FORUM,would it be hard to add a parts & a car FS/WTB section. I am sure that a lot of the people that run that site are also NCRS members. I think the same vender's that pay to advertise on the driveline would do so here also. Most of the members would not mind another dollar or two to help fund the extra cost which I don't see why there would be anymore cost to add this.
