Gentlemen, recommend y'al attend the Board of Director's meeting in July after the St.Charles Convention to better understand all of the issues involved. Not trying to make light, but there's alot more to consider other than just putting up software.

Also, please note I made a post earlier in this thread requesting volunteers and todate only one person has volunteered to help. There are two volunteers who administer this forum, who spend alot of their free time and effort to make the forum happen and two part time Help Desk personnel. There's always room for more volunteers to help out. Regards, Gary....

ADD me to the list. The DRIVELINE should go INTERNET all at a pre-set date and time. Then mailed to those that have to get it in the old fashion way.

The BOARD says more is coming, so maybe things will get better.

I started this thread, and I am glad that so many of you support this not-so-new idea of a cars/parts for sale section. Several of you have mentioned that you wanted to keep this thread going; I think that may be the key to making it happen.

Since the idea has gone nowhere before, maybe if we keep this issue alive long enough something will happen. I am not complaing about the Board or anyone else, since I think they all do a great job. But, it is all too easy to forget about an issue once the initial fervor dies down. So, lets keep it going, perhaps making this the longest-lasting thread ever, and write our regional representatives.

I, too, can't volunteer to set up a web site since I don't have the expertise; I'd probably have more success at building a spider web! But, once the site is set up, it's maintained by its contributors. I'm a lawyer (I know--Boo! Boo!), and just about every State has electronic filing of Court papers; the lawyers actually maintain the docket. We're the largest group of unpaid Court clerk employees. All the site needs is an automatic 30 day (or whatever) 'kill' for old ads.

To copy from other members, this is a no-brainer, we'd all rather buy or sell among NCRS members, and this idea is long overdue. If the dealers want to advertise here, great--that's more dues for NCRS, and we all know who they are, anyway.

Please don't let this idea die; not only is this something we want and need, but it would also would make this site more useful and just plain fun, too.

Rome was not built in one day. At least we have good progress with this new forumn. Time will heal most problems.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. The NCRS Board is well aware of the desires of the TDB Members to have an on-line Driveline classified ad section. For what it's worth an on-line Driveline has been on the BOD's agenda for the last 3 years. First step was to make sure NCRS didn't make the same mistakes that Hemmings Motor News did when they came out with their on-line system. Secondly NCRS had to have a Membership database in order to have a Member's only TDB. Then the logon front end programming had to be developed to link the NCRS Membership database to the TDB. Hopefully, y'al can see that for the last 2 years progess has been made and the BOD's are working towards the end goal of an on-line Driveline. Stayed tuned as they say "more to follow". I agree with having a section for sale/wanted. DOn't know what the expense of publishing the Driveline, but it could be eliminated if the info was available on this board site. I know it would be a lot cheaper and eveything could be saved on anyones computer. As Larry the Cable guy would say "git er done".

not to mention that it would be indexed or at least searchable...try that with the driveline! - another supporter here....

Oh... gee... Look, another thread where the membership is asking for a Classified Section!

As I am looking to buy my first Vette, I would certainly welcome a place here at the forum where I could tell everybody I was looking for a nice C2 driver in the $35K range. Sadly, I have no way to do that.

FWIW, the NCRS Board of Directors make the decisions. Communicate with your NCRS Board of Directors Regional Representative directly.

There are only so many ways you can be asked to contact your regional representative. Your regional representatives (the directors) will make the decision, posts on this discussion board will not get it accomplished.

I don't understand the problem. Simply open the link to the current Driveline, then use the search facility to look for parts and cars. Works for me.

The problem is, there should be a separate area on this forum to list cars and parts for sale... and there isn't.

Nobody is going to force you to use an online classifieds, just like nobody forces one to use the Driveline. All I'm asking for is to let the members decide how they are best served....

Recapping my five years as a Regional Director, which ended in 2011 - there were no written communications to any NCRS Board Member requesting an on-line cars and parts classified ads forum.
