    Re: Your Opinion

I hear and agree with a lot thats been said on this post. And when it comes to older Corvette's people that put tons of effort and time and money into them start looking at the car differantly. I know I have, and in fact it suppost to be painted soon, and I even made the statement once it was painted, I probably would not drive it! And my car is not even an award winner as far as NCRS. And yes it is great right now when out that the little kid big eyed jerking there mothers pants pointing, the folks that give thumbs up or the guy my age that pulls up beside you at the red light and says, brother thats really nice and takes me back to a time when things were really good, I think for some of us it comes down to the money factor unfortunately.
Kids in collage, fighting off major illness, life its self. Its sad, but thats the way it is now, ((Thee money factor)) I told my kids, here is the titles. the Haulmark is empty. Put her in there fill the engine with oil to the top. pump the brakes once a month. Do not sell her.
By the way Bill and Verle, Super nice cars, both my favorites. Thanks for adding the pics.
    The best to all.

Verle thanks for the reminder to unplug the cordless drill charging transformer. I turn off the gas to my hot water heater that is located in the garage with four Corvettes when I go out of town. It is really no problem at all to relight. Never can tell when a gasoline line could leak fuel. I also turn off the water at the meter.

Heck, with the short driving season in Michigan, I drive my Top Flight car all the time, including to a foreign country.

Really enjoyed reading all the comments...

in this thread, except Roys's "SACC is the last stand for C1 Corvettes"... That has no meaning as far as I am concerned. I've been driving C1's since 1958, been an NCRS member since 1984, still driving C1's and don't really feel my life or my Corvette enjoyment will fall apart if I don't join SACK or SACC or SACE. Drive 'em - Don't drive 'em. I don't recall making some pact with the car salesman about what I had to do with a car I bought. That's my business. Yeah, I drive 'em, but nobody is gonna put a guilt trip on me that demands I do anything with any car I own. Get over it. Buy your own and do whatever you want.

                          Roy,
When it is not snowing in Linden, Michigan, you will find me driving my 60 FI Radio Delete to the store to pick up some milk, maybe to the local coffee shop on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and around town during the early evenings during the week, just to relive that feeling of days gone by.

They were made to be driven!

                          Regards,
                          Steve

What kind of insurance do you guys have that allows you to drive your cars anywhere?
The typical classic car insurance companies seem to have limits on too much driving.
