      Re: 1964 Corvette Convertible interior

Thanks for the additional information on the tag. The day my car was built is F14 (2/14/64). Are you then saying if the car assembly was A.O.Smith build, the F would be June 14 of 1964? My car vin has it being built sometime in February 64.

As for 491AE...agree on all except the gray color on the rugs. Seen a number of different looking shades of silver to a grayish... Michael lastly said mine (pics posted of car interior) looked close, he has an original (though a coupe) that should be sure guide to original coloring. He was going to take additional pics outside in natural light to compare to the pics I posted. Thinking the replacement interior I have is close to original. Waiting to see what Michael thinks after comparing again.

            Re: 1964 Corvette Convertible interior

Thank you Michael! Those pics do make the replacement interior I installed look very close to your latest pictures. Perhaps in another 50 years it will match yours perfectly. The Corvette America (ACC...Auto Custom Carpet Inc.) carpet I used should be close enough to the original color to be a good restoration color. May just order passenger carpet replacement set from ACC as Corvette America does not offer 64 passenger only. The costs are significantly different between sites for their carpeting.

I am requesting a sample from Al Knock to just see how close it will be...will post on that when I receive.

THANK YOU to all who have responded and all the invaluable feedback and information you all have provided.

            John

To all you '64 black/silver guys, this is the trim tag that was posted on the other forum of a '64 a guy is heavily modifying currently. Very interesting:
