C2 - 1966 Trim tag - body sequence number question

On the trim tag...can the body "sequence number" be higher for a big block vs. small block?

I would not think so, but I researching a potential car and I compaired it to my current car and one thing jumped out at me;

Note: both cars are AO Smith bodies and both are coupes;

1. car # 1 / VIN 13,5xx / Body build date G01 / Body sequence # A - 2624 (Big block car)
2. car # 2 / VIN 14,2xx / Body build date G08 / Body sequence # A - 2602 (small block car)

Is something wrong here or this normal?

Let me take a stab. Since both the body build date code and the body sequence number are on the same tag, supposedly punched in at the same time, I don't see how a Feb 8th build date tag could have a lower body number than one built on Feb 01. Big or small block, or VIN sequence should have no bearing.

Possibility that trim tag "puncher" (machine operator) made an error.

Does anyone have photos of trim tags for AO Smith - coupe;
between VIN 13,5xx (body build G01) and VIN 14,216 (body build G08)

Photo or just the info of body sequence number & VIN would be helpful.

It would be interesting to know what the body marks are on both bodies. It would tell more about the build sequence.

I have owned my car since Oct.14, 1976, knew the original owner -same high school, the second owner my best friend in high school who died Sept 1976 and I bought from his wife. My car is an AO Smith car A 3945 convertible. body build date of Jan. 20, 1966, Engine T0110ILH 437/390 build date Jan 10, 1966, final assembly St Louis Jan. 31, 1966 serial number 112419. I have the original Protect O Plate and matching tags.
