Part of my brake job will be to clean and paint the drum and plate. Does this require a high temperature tolerant paint? My car is gently driven on short trips, less than 50 miles usually.

The drum exterior and spindle side of the backing plate didn't get any high-temperature paint - just ordinary black chassis paint, applied at Chevrolet-Warren.- Top

Thanks Alan, my car is, and probably always will be a driver. I try to remain faithful to originality as I do my maintenance but nothing short of a frame-off restoration would make this one suitable to be judged.- Top
