Ron, if you are talking to me, the seepage past the seals, in particular the leakage around the rear wheel bearings, U-joint caps, calipers, under the carburator, oil pan, etc. Yes seals dry out over time, especially when a car is not driven, but this looks like a car that has set then was driven...a lot. Notice that the rust by the body mount and on the stabilizer bracket bolts is fresh. The stickers and general condition of the shocks appears to have a lot of mileage, at least more than indicated. I'm not saying that this car was restored, but this is how a restored car that is driven looks after a few years.

In my defense, it's hard to tell from pictures. These are good pictures, but they're still pictures.

Ok, I remember reading it now. My son-in-law sent to me today and I just did not connect it to the previous post.

I know the WHOLE story. That car was stored in my garage for about five years during a divorce settlement. I turned the car down for $12,000 in 1980. Was in boxes. Don't know the mileage on the chassis but the engine was a correctly dated crate engine, a crated FI unit, and a NOS differential. Maybe an owner inspired heater and radio delete and added big brake package.
