Re: Bolts
The '63 AIM Section 7 B2.00 lists the possible usage of 2 different type bolts. If you have #100161 it is plain 1/2-13 x 1 3/4 GM 260-M if you have #9417294 it is cad plated 1/2-13 x 1 3/4 GM 280-M. Take your pick which set you have. These are GM specs.
I looked at that forum and it appears they are a little confused.- Top

Re: Bolts
...to replace the incorrect zinc plated bolts I purchased from either Paragon or LIC. This is another case of the catalog companies selling a zinc plated repro fastener instead of the unplated original, which is common for many transmission and shifter-related bolts. I suspect the repro parts companies don’t want to keep unplated bolts in inventory that might rust before being sold.

I de-zinc and then phosphate a lot of bolts, nuts, washers and studs going onto Corvettes.
It's not just inventory rusting, but most owners (NCRS is a small crowd) don't care about the finish other than not wanting to see rust months after installation.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

The items numbered 2,3,4,6,7,8,9, that typically include a quantity of more than one of each, comes to a combined total of 22 pieces. None of those 22 items was originally zinc plated. If you buy those 22 items from Paragon today, they all come zinc plated.
