I would like to get in touch with 1966 and 1967 Corvette owners with the K-19 (smog systems). I would like to know how many are still out there. Also I am looking for a copy of the factory drawing with deminisons that I have misplaced. Thank you Dale

Dale,
I proudly own a 67 Coupe, Silver, L79 with SMOG. Was delivered new to John Geer Chevrolet in Redding CA. I LOVE the car. Black leather car too. I have been desperately trying to find some advertisements, cards, pictures from teh dealership....all to no avail except for some info and an article from a very nice gentleman from "the other forum"....- Top

Re: 1966 & 1967 K-19 Corvette owners
I am the only owner of a 67 conv (45th birthday yesterday) with the original, still functioning K-16 system. My car was ordered in Danang, South Viet Nam and was delivered to Kenneth Chev in Hawthorne, CA on 12/19/1966. I still have the included booklet entitled "Sun/Air and Wheels" which discusses the rationale of the K-19 system.

As you know, green/saddle base engine convertible delivered to Jack Head Chevrolet in Alhambra. May built with black soft top and black vinyl hardtop in So. California!? A majority of the K19 stuff is still there.

I also own a 66 427/390hp California car with the A.I.R. Smog option. Build date of April 18th. Not a fun system to find parts for, that is for sure. My original carb was missing and i was lucky to find a correct carburetor, although the date is one month past my build date. They do not come up for sale very often. Sad part is the original owner probably chunked in the junk pile.- Top

Re: 1966 & 1967 K-19 Corvette owners
My late '66 convertible (July build ) was an original K-19 car. It is currently configured with a '49-state' engine bay (300HP/powerglide). I'm accumulating some of the missing smog components at this time. (Contemplating installation as a 'faux' system with a de-vaned pump sometime in the future).
I've traded many emails with Dale & hope to call on other K-19 owners for photos & tips as this adventure moves along.- Top
