Dale, a local friend has 1967 roadster VIN 6291, it is an Elkhart Blue/Teal 350 horse car. It is a smog pump car. The pad looks very good, I'd be glad to send you a picture. I own the 22,000 mile red/red coupe that is a Benchmark and Bow Tie car. It is VIN 1023 and still has the pump on it. Interesting note. You would think all cars that should have a smog pump in 1966 and 1967 and registered new in California would have the smog pump. Another friend in town has a very original ’66 coupe that came only with an original Protect O Plate, the dealer name was not in the Protect O Plate. The Protect O Plate shows the original owner living in California. We were suspicious because the car was not coded for a smog pump and did not have a smog pump. When the original owner was found through the internet, he explained that the car was purchased in Denver while he was on vacation. He drove it back to California and registered the car. I think it was not legal to bring a 49 State car into California new in 1966. They probably had no way to follow up and he registered the car new with no problem.

Does anyone know if in the coming Mecum auction, a 1967 Corvette coupe, Marina Blue, Bright Blue, 400HP, K-19 smog car, that was owned by a NCRS judge, is on my list of 1966 and 1967 K-19 cars? Thank you Dale

                Re: 1966 & 1967 K-19 Corvette owners

I missed this post earlier - I have a 1966 350HP coupe with intact and operational K19, and a 1967 300HP coupe which was a K19 car, but I have removed the system as we use that car for long road trips. I still have all of the components. Both cars are still wearing their original California black plates, and both are sunfire yellow. The '66 was delivered by Baher Chevrolet in Manhattan Beach to it's first owner in Monterey, CA.

Tim, Looks like your Corvette is number 62 of the remaining 1966 and 1967 K-19 Corvetttes. As an added question did ii have A/'C? Thank you for your input, Dale Schafer

Thank you Michael Pierce, 2 more 1967 K-19 cars, a coupe and a roadster. Numbers 63 and 64 of the 1966 and 67 California smog cars. If I use a name no Vin number is listed or if a Vin number is listed no namem unless the owner wants both listed. Thank you Dale

Dale - I have a late '66 300hp roadster delivered to the dealer in Laguna Beach. It is a K19 car but I removed the AIR tubes and plugged the manifold a couple of years ago due to exhaust leaks. The pump looks like it was a replacement. And the carb has been replaced as well. I do consider restoring the car at some point but for now have too much fun driving it..... and it's a lot nicer without the exhaust leaks!!! Sourcing the K19 gear would be quite expensive I'm guessing.

                      Cheers,
                      Mike

Mike. at this time we are only collecting 1966 and 1967 K-19 cars with complete systems. At least that was our intention. I think we only have complete operating K-19 systems. Please get in touch with us as soon as you complete your system. Thank you Dale

                            Dale,
if you look on Minneapolis Craigslist history, there was a 66 silver/black convertible listed by a Chevrolet dealer that has K19 under the hood. I know nothing about it beyond that--maybe someone in the North Central chapter knows more.
                            regards,
                            Mike Ernst

Thanks Mike, I will wait for someone to contact me. Dick W. I looked on my list and do not have it or was it in the C-2 registery. I hesitate to add anything without some proof that it still exsists. I wish more owners would respond if they are not on the C-2 registery. Dale PS thank you Corvette Mike.

Dale that car was restored about ten years ago and was shown at Kissimmee in '05 or '06
