    Jim,
I see what you mean now.I saw a silver blue Z06 shell and frame at Corvette Carlisle the last year Mecum had an auction there and it had a survey sheet on the windshield showing the vin....I wonder what ever happened to
that one?As i remember that car had no trim tag...

If Wade Isom is the person selling this car then I highly recommend running the opposite direction as fast as possible. I was smart and only had one interaction with him, and it ended very poorly. Never again. BEWARE OF THIS INDIVIDUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! This sounds like a major issue on this car if true.

Joe, I contacted the seller and asked who had done the restoration.
He responded promptly with the following reply:

"I restored the chassis and driveline. The body hasnt been painted in 25 years. John Warneck in Michigan owned the car back then. He was a Bloomington Gold judge for 63's"

Bruce, unless I'm mistaken, .....the term of the seven-day auction listing just expired without receiving a bid.

It ran out according to my saved search:

Hi Jimmy. I stated the very same thing earlier in the thread. I don't know if anyone saw it, so I just wanted to support your claim. I had a report pulled on this guy and found out that he has been brought to court numerous times. There are many people that have had dealings with him and just didn't bother to file a claim on him. Not living in Florida, it is impossible to file a small claim ($2800 is not so small a claim). He knows this. The only way I got my money back from him (I paid with my credit card through PayPal who offered no help at all) was I did a 'Charge Back' through my credit card. I did not realize you could do this and thought (as did he) I had lost my money. PayPal then went after him and, until he paid them back, was unable to use PayPal for about a year.
As Jimmy said...Never again. BEWARE OF THIS INDIVIDUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His old eBay ID was corvette_engineering. Does the picture look familiar?

He also had his website as his signature on his posts here. Does anyone remember him? He had hundreds of posts here and I can't find one of them.

I don't think he is with us anymore and I've been trying to search for some of his old posts from the early 2000's and come up with nothing. I tried looking in the "Archives"? above and all that place seems to be is a book store. What happened to the old yellow and black archives section where we could see any old post, regardless of whether or not a member is still around or am I not looking in the right place?

Did the NCRS can all those old posts that were made years back because the posters are no longer dues paying members? Anyway I did find one of David's blogs about his '63 Z06 below. PT

                  Patrick,

I did a search for "Weele." It looks like at least some of his posts are alive and well in the archives. Here's one example thread:

Hope this isn't the same item that's now on eBay (2 years later) from "sunny Florida".

Edit: oops; just noticed that above housing assy. is claiming NOS.

This is one ugly silver '63 Z06 pie plate, for only $1499. Wonder if "six degrees of separation" applies to C2's as well ?

I see it's back up again, for a 7-day auction ending Dec 5th. Starting bid $245,000, or Buy-it-Now for $275,000. Evidently all the comments on this board and the "other" site have had no effect on the seller.
