    Re: Lectric Limited Plug Wires

After adjusting my valves, I couldn't get the car to run right. I suspected the wires, and finally changed them. Bingo, car runs better than it has in years. No hesitation, no intermittent misses. Those dated wires are junk. I just wish someone made better quality wires with the FI 90 degree ends. John H. recommended I check with a company and have just not gotten around to it.

Actually, Bill, I can still get you any Packard wire you wish-the rolls are pretty long @25,000 feet. We're starting to test a low ohms/foot (100) Packard set for the small blocks next week that is a supression wire & will look OE except tha the date codes will not be available. Ken

              Re: Lectric Limited Plug Wires

My 66 390 coupe breaks up on WOT and the cause was the No. 3 cylinder wire leaking voltage. I have talked to Lectric Limited in the past and I assume they won't stand behind their product. I don't want an entire set just a replacement for the No. 3 wire. Then off they come until the next flight judging. Has anyone had any luck getting LL to replace faulty products?

Wondering?? Has anyone ever called and talked to owners of LL? One would think with all the complaints they would regroup with a good set of wires and we would all buy a good set that met judging standards.

FWIW, my LL wires (1972 SB 4 spd) have performed without issue since installation in 2009 (approx 3,000 miles ago).

Wonder when the change was made @ LL?

I've got a set I bought back around 93-94 and have not used. Would these fall into the good range hopefully? What 'd ya'll think?

my first encounter with defective LL plug wires was in about 1990 when i restored my white 57 FI so i'd guess your 93-94 wires are problematic. mike

Even with LL wires, the AM radio in my car sounds worse than the mail order crystal set I constructed when I was five....

During ops, I was surprised when it actually found a station, any station, and played half of what I think was "Angle Baby". I'd welcome stainless steel wires, at least I'd be able to identify the clicks

You guys scare me. I just purchased a new set from LL. I have not put them in the car yet, sounds like I better get a different set of wires. Is there anyone who makes a good set that will last?

For my 2 cents worth; I too put on LL dated wires on my 63 SHP back in the mid 90's (you know, the ones that wrap around everything in sight on the sides of the engine). Mine have performed very well since, pulling redline w/o any misses anytime. I used to use Packard 440 wires back in the day, but the neighbors complained I messed up their TV reception, which made it hard to sneak home after midnight. Besides, I spent good money on a nice sound system and want to enjoy it. My two uncompromised aftermarket add ons are my sound system and my electronic ignition conversion. Won't ever change either of them.

My LL set (small block with 1Q67 date) was purchased around 1996-97. They have performed well, with no issues to date.

I have LL wires on my cars - never had a problem- EVER
Realistically, I don't drive the cars that often, and I haven't had to mess with the wires once they were installed. So as a rule once you install them - leave them alone and you should not have any issues.

After reading the posts here - If you need to remove them I would say you should do it CAREFULLY....
