    Hi Dan, I assume you were referring to my post . If you do some research on what I posted you may change your mind . Or you could attend one of Al Grenning's seminar's .

      I have a early '66 big block (built 9/17/65).....since most of us may not be able to attend a Al Grennings lecture regarding "factory restamping" please enlight us on this subject.

        This is information that I recieved from Al Grenning .

        " Tonawanda Product Information Bulletin " of 9-21-65 , which cancelled L36 engine assembly 3855217 . The assigned suffix for that assembly was "IHR" . It is known that discontinued engine assemblies were torn down, re-dressed and had stamped information on pad surfaces removed . as a matter of normal production . Cylinder cases were subsequently reintroduced to production and could be built into any Chev L36 vehicle . New engine assembly information was then stamped over the initial ground off pad surface .

          Bill & Bill, I do too! Picture taken more than 30 years ago. Have to scan it and will post when time permits.

            The other thing on that TO date in the original post, weren't all the
            "1's" really stamped with the "I"???

            This stamp has both...
