Ignore the paint. Anybody ever seen a double VIN stamp like this? The car's VIN ends in 5126. The leading theory is that a 9 was erroneously loaded into the holder instead of a 6. To correct this, a 6 was then substituted and a second stamping then applied in a different location. Why would the incorrect stamp not have been ground out, as we typically see, prior to the restamp?
