Ignore the paint. Anybody ever seen a double VIN stamp like this? The car's VIN ends in 5126. The leading theory is that a 9 was erroneously loaded into the holder instead of a 6. To correct this, a 6 was then substituted and a second stamping then applied in a different location. Why would the incorrect stamp not have been ground out, as we typically see, prior to the restamp?
Bet the guy who goofed that one up never thought the whole world would see the error many years later.
........ I like it!!
