(It's interesting that Semon Knudsen was colorblind, but hit a homerun with this color.) I provided Bob McDorman with a comprehensive title history from the Michigan Secretary of State when I sold him the car and have spoken with the design engineer (Abe Yeahey) who originally bought the car from the Exec. pool.

After completing the restoration (circa 1988), I took the car to the Knudsen's home in Bloomfield Hills and have a number of photos of him with the car. I also have photos of Bill Mitchell (VP of Styling) in the car taken just months before his passing. Richard Earl, grandson of Harley Earl, also provide me with a snapshot of BK inthe car when it was new, taken at their winter home in Palm Beach.

While the car was not prepared at GM Styling, it was modified by copying the Cobalt Blue '63 that was shown at the New York Auto Show, which was an S.O. car.

        Hi Tom,
I believe he bought it in 2003. Call me if you want to discuss. Haven't the time to type out the whole story.

On the '55, what is that thing between the master cylinder and wiper motor?

          It looks like a siren!

I think it might be the coil in the ignition shielding.
Much different setup then post 55 shielding.

Wow Bruce, you're absolutely right. I just looked in Noland's Book.....pgs 58-61 shows it all.

                Rich,
Once in a while "even a blind squirrel finds a nut".
It is also scarey what we sometimes have buried in the back of our minds.
