Actually, the thermostat gasket changed for 1985 and then again for 1987 (to the style with an elastomer bead around the opening to MUCH improve sealing). In any event, these gaskets were by no means a Corvette-unique item. They were used for virtually all Chevrolet V-8 applications.

if I had to say could it be the spare tire tubs? Not sure of the last year they were aval.
      Edward------

The spare tire tubs and associated hardware were specific to the Corvette generation. C2 tubs and associated hardware were unique to C2. C3 tubs were unique to the C3 years (with some parts changing over the period). C4 tubs and associated hardware were unique to that period (with some parts changing over the period).

        Gary------

The lower rear shock nut was the same for 63-82. However, it did not carry-over to C4. The C4 chassis (and most of the rest of the car) is metric.

Also, the C2-C3 lower shock nut is not a unique-to-Corvette item.

OK Joe, Is this an individual part, or a system and is it a manditory item, or an option available to Corvette only?

It's an individual part, it's mandatory, and it's not a Corvette-only available option.

The same seat adjuster knob was used on all C2 and C3 in the 1965-1976 period and it was a Corvette-unique part. However, it was not used after 1976.

                  All-----

This is one of those question where you need to "put two-and-two together". The first part I would expect that everyone who is on this board knows almost without a doubt. The second part is a little trickier, but I provided a clue in a recent post.

Also, over the 1963 to 1994 period, a total of just over 1 million Corvettes were manufactured. Of this total about 685,000 Corvettes had the part in question or, about 69% of the total Corvettes produced in those 31 model years. And, as I mentioned, this is a Corvette-only part.

                    Maybe 69% were manual transmissions?

I have always said that the one thing common to all cars was the valve stem core. I would say that part is common to 64-94.

So I think the teach left the classroom. C'mon Joe, we're in suspense now. It's gettin' late here on the east coast.

Yep, I didnt catch that. Then I would guess the side yoke bearings common to IRS rears.
