Re: C2 chassis VIN stamping location
FWIW. The 1963 body mount brackets, on the frame, were used for 1963 only. The 1963 body was bolted directly to the bracket, along with any shims needed, no rubber cushions were used, except for the 2 rectangular pads on the crossmember (forward of the gas tank, I believe). The 1963 parking brake parts (drum brake cables, lever, etc.) on the frame and the parking brake handle assembly, on the body are also 1 year only pieces. BTW, I also need to make a decision on the frame, on a 1963 convertible, but just the opposite. The car is a rolling chassis project, a stripped shell, also needing body work, with many of the original parts missing. So, the car will probably never be anything but a driver. Need to decide whether to keep the existing 1963 frame as is, convert it to the 65-82 disc brake/parking brake system, or just convert the body mounts and rear section of a C3 frame for the 1963 body. Decisions, decisions. Dave
