FWIW. The 1963 body mount brackets, on the frame, were used for 1963 only. The 1963 body was bolted directly to the bracket, along with any shims needed, no rubber cushions were used, except for the 2 rectangular pads on the crossmember (forward of the gas tank, I believe). The 1963 parking brake parts (drum brake cables, lever, etc.) on the frame and the parking brake handle assembly, on the body are also 1 year only pieces. BTW, I also need to make a decision on the frame, on a 1963 convertible, but just the opposite. The car is a rolling chassis project, a stripped shell, also needing body work, with many of the original parts missing. So, the car will probably never be anything but a driver. Need to decide whether to keep the existing 1963 frame as is, convert it to the 65-82 disc brake/parking brake system, or just convert the body mounts and rear section of a C3 frame for the 1963 body. Decisions, decisions. Dave

      Let's hope the 67 frame isn't stolen.

My 63 has 66 trailing arms and factory discs all the way around.

I am still using the 63 emergency cables and handle. Works just fine. It was done before I bought the car. Not sure how it was done. But it's a clean proper installation.

Hope everyone had a great 4th. The '63 transmission stamp is different from the '64 stamp in that in '64 there is only the year digit (4) followed by the VIN number.

The stamp in '64 that was used for the transmission seems to be different from the '64 frame stamp in that the frame numbers are taller than the transmission numbers. Also the frame stamp uses a capital "I" for the number "1" whereas the transmission seems to be a "1" (difficult to see).

          Frame left, transmission right.

Transmission VIN derivative stamping started in 1962.
