These are quite rare but they were available over the counter for a while after 67. I've owned several over the years. Many of the SCCA Corvette guys purchased/used this tube for a few years after 67.
A very similar road draft tube for L88 pass car (that never made it to production) was also available for many years, probably into the late 70's.

I think a genuine 67 L88 hood would be difficult. None were ever sold in service. All that ever existed were made at the St Louis assy plant.
The unique duct remained available for many years though.

Re: What is the hardest to get part?

Hardest part is the cumulative /collective nature of all the correct parts!!!... in trying to acheive that 99% + Duntov score !! on any corvette... We never seem to give up in that quest.... "the great parts hunt."

etal, C1's don't hold a candle to some of the higher dollar Z06 & L88 type parts. We think they're expensive, but not when compared to the C2 rare parts. Thought the thread was asking about rare and desirable C1 parts? Gary....

I know it sounds trivial but I have been looking for a key warning buzzer switch for a '73 tilt/telescopic for 6 years. There are no repops and no one with a '73 steering column is foolish enough to part with it.

            How about a 889 distributor?

Well known Corvette collector Chris Piscitello listed an original 1967 L88 hood on an eBay auction 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. A real one removed from one of the authenticated L88s, that had lost it during it's racing days. It had hung in Chris's office for a long time.
Many people backed off the auction thinking it may be a "fake". It sold for a little over $5K.

Re: What is the hardest to get part?

One of the hardest for me is also one that was equipped on every corvette thru 1961. That is the jack. I just can't believe when they come up for sale, which is not often, the prices they bring. I still have a vison of attending a garage sale and finding one of the Western Auto jacks.

Original dual disc clutch assemblies are quite tough to find pieces or together as complete units.

What about a set of aluminium heads from the never ran 1960 Corvette. Not sure I would want a pair but I'm sure there are a couple floating around for a pretty penny !! Stewy

The 1969-76 T&T key buzzer switch is now available as a repo. Several Vette houses now carry the switch.
