3970119 DJ are the ones listed for "After 7/69", but, as I've woefully mentioned, that's not "entirely" accurate.

There must be a few more late 1969 survivors out there who also have a CF (with 8 degree timing) decal. Perhaps collectively we can get someone interested in reproducing them ?

It's not just late-build cars that have the "8 degree BTC" spec for the L-46 (and never-released 1969 LT-1) on the "CF"-coded, GM #3956682 emissions label. Attached is a photo of the original label from a November, 1968 built Corvette. It's the same as the one originally installed on my September, 1969 original owner car.

So, if the "CF" label was changed to the "4 degree BTC" spec, it must have occurred AFTER your October, 1969 built car was built. I doubt such a thing occurred and I also doubt that it would have occurred without a change in part number.

Making matters even more confused is the fact that the initial timing setting for the 1969 L-46 is specified, variously, as 4 and 8 degrees BTDC in other references.

So, what label was reproduced for the currently available "CF" reproduction? I don't know.

Another Restorer article for me to look up with my magic decoder ring. I'll have to quit totaling up expenses for the trip to California, and get on The Restorer CD tonight.

Thanks Joe. Your label looks just like mine, right down to the curls.
Hmmm, this just adds to the confusion.

So far then we know for a fact:
        • November 1968 had 8 degrees
        • October 1969 had 8 degrees.
Bear with me, I'm a little new at all of this, but do you suppose it's possible that ALL of the 1969 labels were in fact "8 degrees BTC" and when they were initially reproduced (and thus all the ones that followed) they were made in error (showing "4 degrees BTC") ?

I don't know anyone with a 1969 Survivor, but I'm sure someone here can chime in who has an original label and tell us if 4 degrees was in fact produced by Chevrolet.

Yes Tom, that IS the story I was thinking of:
          The Restorer V12, #4, Spring, 1986
Rereading the story it deals mostly with 1970 emissions labels, but much of what is in there may also apply to the 1969 labels -- although the story focuses on the correct timing for 1970 LT1s. One of the resources used is the 1970 emissions labels.

            Gary,
Ever source the correct label? I am in the process of updating my early 69' L46 and if I am replacing the label I would want to do it as "correct" as possible.

              Joe,
No, I haven't found a source for the label. There are some sources that were suggested that I still need to chase down, but for now, I'm sticking with the original sticker on the car.

Has anyone noted a DJ emissions sticker on a 350/300 dec 69 build car
