Roy, This is one time I truly hope you are wrong but I sure wouldn't argue with you on this.

This thread has nothing to do with technical but at 60 posts now it is of interest to lot's of viewers. Like you, I do not know if GM will continue the Corvette. Things for GM look dire at this time and going bankrupt is likely in the near future. The production of Corvette will than be looked at by the bean counters and a decision will be made than about keeping the car in production.
What I have read about, is the Corvette plant is at about 50% capacity now for production. I doubt a profit is being made at this rate by GM on the Corvette cars. I sure would be sorry to see the Corvette go away but I cannot say there is much hope at this time in GM's history to keep building the Corvette. Hope for the Corvette to continue being produced even at a much lower rate of production. Time will tell.

We can jump up and down, write letters, scream and hollar, but if guys and gals aren't coming into the showroom to own this car, it will go away.

GM needs to step up and get us some incentives on the 09 models now !! Why wait any longer? They put great deals on the 08's to help the dealers who didn't get them sold. Do you think the dealer who had a year old plus Corvette on the lot will be ordering more soon ?? NO !! I sold my last 08's last summer. Filled my showroom with over 70 new 09's in December. I have about 20 left. How about those nice incentives for the dealers who are in the game !! Get some incentives on these 09's and I'll fill the order bank for 2010's. Don't wait until September when the season is over. Spring is here and people will buy our product with a little help !

Come on GM, lets roll !!!!
With the future of the Corvette in doubt, I have thought very hard about purchasing a C6. Offering 0% financing on '09 models would put me over the edge.

This brought up the question, what could you expect to pay for a 2008 model, either off of MSRP or as an adder to invoice price?

always buy the latest model because the price difference is less than the deprecated value of a 1 year older car

with the caddy XLR gone from the BG corvette plant GM had planned to bring the saturn sky and pontiac solitus production there but they are now dead so i would not place any bets the BG plant stays open.

                  Clem,

I knew that. Can't decide if I am trying to talk myself in to it or out of it?

                  Thanks for the reminder.
