Yeah right, and next you'll tell me the Obama administration will come up with a plan to crush our beloved gas guzzling old cars if we trade them in for hybrids. Hey wait a minute, they are!

O.K.....everybody just take a breath and calm down. I will take Roys bet and say that our beloved Vette will be here for MANY years to come. Look where we were a year or so ago with the gas prices. Everyone was thinking we would lose the Vettes and other hi-perf. cars because of that. You never hear anyone mention high gas prices anymore and it's no longer an issue. The problem is fixed.
Everyone seems to jump to EXTREMELY negative conclusions (thanks to the media). Be positive people because if history repeats itself (which it seems to do) we will pull out of this recession just like all the times before. Also, they are bringing back the Camaro. Why would they add a high performance car to their line-up and axe the Corvette? I think we are still in a major muscle-car era and muscle sells.

the new administration does not want to use tax money to fund the military to guard the oil pipe lines in the middle east so super fuel efficient cars and electric cars are top priority. it wants tax money to be used to keep americans on the hook for free schooling and free medical care and that way they will never vote against the present administration. the 30 and under crowd put them in office because of what i just posted, they want free medical, free schooling and never have to go fight a war.

The bottom line is this. For the Corvette to survive, it must sell. Period. Until the current inventory is sold, dealers will not order replacements.

We can jump up and down, write letters, scream and hollar, but if guys and gals aren't coming into the showroom to own this car, it will go away.

GM needs to step up and get us some incentives on the 09 models now !! Why wait any longer? They put great deals on the 08's to help the dealers who didn't get them sold. Do you think the dealer who had a year old plus Corvette on the lot will be ordering more soon ?? NO !! I sold my last 08's last summer. Filled my showroom with over 70 new 09's in December. I have about 20 left. How about those nice incentives for the dealers who are in the game !! Get some incentives on these 09's and I'll fill the order bank for 2010's. Don't wait until September when the season is over. Spring is here and people will buy our product with a little help !

Come on GM, lets roll !!!!

All I know is, as soon as I'm making $100K+ a year or win the jackpot hella Lotto, I'm hauling butt dawn to the Chevy dealer for a new ZR1 to make MY charitable contribution to GM's much needed stimulus program. I bet if every one of us 50,000 or whatever NCRS members bought a new Z06, it might help out a little. Yeah, that'll happen.

You might just want to rethink that bet!
Not only is it a real possibility that the Vette may be gone soon, but I certainly wouldn't take any bets on GM staying alive.

And Roger?????? May he rest in turmoil!

Justin Beck had the best reply to this post. You see Justin is a young man with a positive outlook on life. Think positive men. The state of the economy is improving. Just in my town houses are selling like hot cakes now. Within a two block area of my shack all I see is SOLD signs.
I have a tenant who works for a local dealer-Bud Smails dealerships. She said GMC is #1 at her store out selling Cads and Pontiacs. She said they are selling like hot cakes. I believe her as all I see is new GMC all over town.
We need to think positive and get rid of the negative vibes. Try praying for a change instead of bitching. Also go out and buy a new GM vehicle today. I mean the discounts are unbelievable.. So is the financing. Later, JD

As a dealer, perhaps you can tell us if we retired GM employees can get our Employee Discount on Vettes yet? I don't know why they have held back on us - oh yes! That's right, we're not Union. They don't have to give us nuthin but the shaft. They didn't have to cave into us for the last umteen years.

                      John;

I agree as to being positive. Things are picking up in the housing market down here in Florida too, but not the prices. It's just the people with assets are loosining up and buying the bargains while they still have some money. Next to come will be taxes on assets and the only safe ones will be in property because there are too many State laws protecting it for the Feds to get around w/o a war.

                        Yes, Stu !

GM employee purchase is available to you and has been all year. It has been quite some time since the Corvette was not eligible.

We sell a great deal of new Corvettes to GM employees and we always welcome them. In stock or special order. ZR1 is not available for employee purchase though.

Thanks for the info. My local dealer doesn't know nothing, probably because they sell everything now (all brands), but I can't blame them if they want to stay in business. Of course you got to know the ZR1 is what I had in mind - one last blast.

                          Thanks again.

Not to worry. It's not your money anyway. I's only from the top few percent that pay much of any tax. And if that isn't enough, the rest of the bill will be passed on to future generations or our eventual owners - the Chinese.

" From the St Louis Post- Dispatch "President Obama's administration, in a major environmental policy shift, is preparing to ask 195 nations that ratified the U.N. ozone treaty to enact MANDATORY reductions in hydrofluorocarbons according to U.S. officials.
