Need advice on 9 leaf springs for 67 Vette standard

I need to replace a custom 1 leaf TRW spring on my 67 300hp. I found some old original 9 leaf ones. Question: do these wear out (other than the spacers) and how can I tell if it is usable and correct? Thank you, Bob

    Hi Bob,
Perhaps a good spring shop could tell you if the springs are up to par or in need of repair or re-arching.

No, springs don't wear out. Neither do bridges, but what kills both is corrosion. If the leaves don't show signs of serious corrosion it should be good to go with a cleanup, new liners and spring link bolt cushions.

Bob -- as for arch, member Gary Beaupre wrote an article in the RESTORER a year or so ago, giving measurements to take when C2 9-leaf spring on the bench. I used them a year ago when checking an original replacement. Can look in my notes if you can't access Gary's article.
