corect 1970 dupont paint code needed. Corvette Brz

I am refinishing my 1970 LT-1 convertible and it is originally code 993 Corvette Bronze. The body shop is telling me the Dupont code is 5128 and I have an old paint cross refference sheet that says it was Dupont code 4910. Does anyone know the difference between the two codes or can anyone point me in the right direct. thanks for your help.

According to the Corvette Auto Paint Conversion Chart from CORVETTECOLOR, the correct Dupont Code is 5128.

Probably best to buy a small amount and have the shop shoot a test panel for you.

If this is like most offset colors it will be way off in color and flake size. Hope you have a place that still has the original color on so that you may work with the new paint to get the tint right

Additional research shows that Dupont Code #4910 is 1968 Corvette Bronze Metallic, OEM Code #992. I do not know how the 1968 and the 1970 bronze colors compare.

As Dick Whittington points out, correct metallic particle size and tint can (will) still be a problem, even with the correct codes.
