That sound right Pat, they must of had a separate holder for the RF RD and so on, i notice more on the Fuelie cars are with short R leg, thank you Pat

And they had more than just two examples of each letter or number stamp. We’ve seen this photo many times. In just this one collection, there are 11 S’s, 5 R’s, etc. I don’t think any of the R’s shown here are the short leg variety. So, they had more than this collection shows.

Gary, i understand Like Pat explain the plant could of had separated holders for the RF- RD-and so on , but i learn that the later RF the R mostly had the shorter leg what confusing me is i found three F0604RF two with short leg and one long leg R's stamp on the same day

Sooooo the best latest answer to Danny's OP is May 6 as shown in Patrick's #17 posted picture. If anyone has any pictures documenting any earlier use of the 'short legged R', this would be the time and place to post them.

Interesting, so I may have one of the last long legged Rs used?

No. Read previous posts and review photos to understand that the introduction of the short leg R did not eliminate the use of all the other different type styles of R simultaneously for the rest of the production year.
