    Thanks.

The car is about 2-3 hours from being driveable at this point, just need to fine tune the exhaust install and add fluids.
Removing the cluster probably won't happen until late winter or spring since I'd like the car to be driven by the owner yet this fall. In the short term I'll probably leave the wiper arms off so that he doesn't cause damage by accidentally turning on the wipers.

I'll let you know if we learn more in the short term.

Still wondering where to get a left side pivot and linkage arm if needed ...?

I have my wiper parts on the workbench and took the following measurements for you. The length of the arms are: "D", drivers side= 19 1/16", "E", passenger side= 18 15/16". The arms on the transmissions are: "D" 8.5 centimeters, "E" 9 centimeters. The geometry of the system is interesting with the "D" arm on the transmission being shorter and having the longer "drive" arm.

          Thanks Don.
That will help when we get it apart to investigate further.

Attached is a photo of the left side ~3" pivot arm, It should be straight/flat. As I've suggested earlier, I would recommend that you weld the short arm to the pivot shaft. This will eliminate a lot of 'slop" in the wiper movement.
To repair your bent arm, grind the "staking" metal off, remove the bent arm, straighten in a vise, and weld it back onto the pivot shaft.

It bent back into place quite easily once I removed it from the car.
I don't have a welder, but did re-stake the arm to the transmission post as best able. It was actually quite tight already.
