Do the characters and font and broach marks look legit on this 1966 stamp pad? One photo was during the rebuild and two photos are post-rebuild.

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
The 6 in the Tonawanda stamping and the 4 in the vin stamp do not look typical of Tonawanda and St. Louis.- Top

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
Pat is one of the best on this subject, so take his advice seriously.
Pat does not need any support, but I do agree fully with his assessment.
Obviously, factory broach marks are also not seen.

Michael,
I would use Al Grenning services to verify the stamp pad.

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
I think someone like Al Greening also has a vast number of original engine stamps that may be able to verify/compare engine stamps, Mike’s engine stamp sure looks like a very aged stamp. The Stamps Gary posted is a great tool to use to see what stamps were used.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
Look at Gary's post of the stamps, bottom left hand side where the zero's are. That last stamp looks like a nine or it could have been used upside down as a six. So it's possible your six is a correct factory stamp used on your block. Al Grenning should have a list of engine stamp pads that match up to your engine build date that's why I would check with him. I also like the broach marks on your engine pad.

Michael,
Look at the 6 in these pictures. They are the same as yours.
