    The shop manual might also have the torque value.

      It agrees with Norm's specs above @ 30 ft-lbs...

          Happy to help. I use this method often. In my opinion it's much easier than removing the hub if you just need to do minor work in the housing.

            I'm a bit suspicious of a couple of those values. For years I've had a card with "standard torque values" based on shank diameter and grade. In the event I can't find what I consider to be a reliable torque spec in the service manuals or AIM I use the card value.

            I'm sure there are charts on the Web with the same info.
