Re: Restoration Batteries
You guys have me worried now. I ordered a battery for my Model A Ford from Antique Battery. I filled out the form. They sent me an email back. Email said they could build me a battery. Time frame was about 3 weeks. So I sent them a check on April 10th.
But it's only been a tad less than two weeks.
Now I followed Joe Rays instructions so now will have to wait. Yes I know I should have used a credit card but my Dad taught me if you can't pay cash for something then don't buy it.
I hope it works out OK.
Please keep us informed.

Re: Restoration Batteries
I found a Delco store and bought an AC Delco group 24 PG battery $108.00 plus tax. This is the first time to go through the access panel.- Top

Re: Restoration Batteries
Not taking point deduct would not be appropriate. Factory original is factory original.
Back in the day, before slews of big companies got into the repo business when a part was not available, we made them ourselves. Sometimes starting with just a sheet of metal or finding a part similar and modifying it. Often we'd make extra to sell to others. That's how some of the big companies got started. In their garage making something they needed. Once they had the tooling they were off and running.
I could never find a NOS or correct repo of the 6V positive battery cable so I hand made them for quite a few years.
Searched wrecking yards for usable battery cases and caps and had the batteries rebuilt. That's real work but the true restoration hobby IMHO.- Top
