    Restoration Batteries

I heard Restoration Battery is no longer-closed. Does anyone know of a source for a battery that do well in Judging for my 66 & 65. I can use the current Delco, but that still is heavy point lose. The Restoration Battery was the smallest lose.

    Re: Restoration Batteries

Mike, you have to help me here since you mentioned smallest loss. I believe a proper Delco battery is a 50% loss in points. That is 12 points as I recall. If the rest of your car is perfect you final raw score starting with 4500 points would be 99.997%. What am I missing?

Other way around Rick. Antique Auto Battery was the supplier.

Restoration Battery (Tom Kobman) would still be around if there was a level playing field!

Wow! great info-already pulled up Antique Auto Battery web. Thanks, guys!

Oh, by the way Harry, this is not my first rodeo, my past personal cars and customer cars typically score 99%+ Mostly because of attention to detail, including the absolute best Judgable battery I can find. National Judging today is brutal, so I don't take chances.

Mike, I would contact them first. If I recall, there was a recent thread about this and they (Antique) not filling orders, nor answering phones etc.

Rick, Not correct my friend. You have it backwards!!! Whew!!!
Tom Kobman from Restoration battery bought his batteries from Antique Auto Battery from Youngstown.

                          Re: Restoration Batteries

I spoke to Tom Kobman of Restoration Battery in January at the Lakeland regional and he said the batteries will no longer be available (period).
The only option is to find a correct battery, gut the case and install a small high quality battery in the case.
It should judge fine unless NCRS uncaps the early battery and checks for the presence of acid or has the battery removed and weighed, which would not surprise me...

I know of a member who ordered a battery from Antique, after many weeks of trying to contact them, they charged his card but 7 months later, still no battery and he has not been able to contact them again, caveat emptor.
