      Re: Restoration Batteries

They're now Dubois Battery, and it appears no longer do any restoration-style batteries.

However, it might be a great company to buy Antique Auto Battery and take over.

While on this subject, does any one have a picture of an original 66 battery. Want to know what the sides look like. Are the top and bottom smooth areas on the sides even with the middle rougher areas. Any pics would help if original.

So if antique is not producing any longer, what's the story with these guys: https://www.batterycentralmall.com/B...t/SR59_HC.html

Are they just another dealer for antique? Has anyone dealt with them?

            Re: Restoration Batteries

I haven't ever heard of them, but the batteries are exactly like the Antique manufactured ones. Maybe someone should order one and let us know if you get it.

              Michael,

Good suggestion! Why don't you go ahead and order one applicable to each year! Then you can write an article for "The Restorer".
              Great Idea!!!!!!!

                  Chuck,
According to their website these are AGM batteries not lead/acid like the ones previously sold by Tom Kobman ..

                    Re: Restoration Batteries

Having read that Restoration Battery has closed I tried to buy a battery from Antique Auto Battery. First few times I called I got the Not Open No voicemail. After awhile I got the We're Open press 1 to get sales. After a message about them being busy and how great their batteries are it eventually switched to Leave Your Number And We'll Call You. I left my number 6 times and no call back.

A friend suggested I try to get in contact through their website, which is still active. (Restoration Battery website has been taken down.) Although you cannot order a battery through their website you can contact them for information about a battery and they will get back to you - theoretically. Never heard back.

My contact attempts have been over the past 4-5 weeks.

So I'm guessing that Restoration and Antique are both out of business. Any thoughts to the contrary?

Kobman sold AGM batteries from Antique Auto Battery for at least 15 years. That's how old mine is, and I purchased it from him.
It died a couple of years ago, but I still have it.

As I stated in a earlier post, Restoration Battery is closed because the batteries are no longer available..

I understood they closed but did not understand that Antique Auto Battery also closed.

I should have explained that, sorry.

No problem. But knowing that would have saved me all the frustration of repeatedly trying to get in touch with them though. Their website is still active, BTW.

Speaking of no call backs, I'm trying to get more insulation blown into the attic of my shop before the desert summer heat arrives but I've called 4 companies for bids repeated times and only one called back. New construction, commercial and residential, is booming here in Saint George, UT and every contractor is too busy. So if there are any contractors in NCRS that are looking to expand-this is the place.

You guys have me worried now. I ordered a battery for my Model A Ford from Antique Battery. I filled out the form. They sent me an email back. Email said they could build me a battery. Time frame was about 3 weeks. So I sent them a check on April 10th.
But it's only been a tad less than two weeks.
Now I followed Joe Rays instructions so now will have to wait. Yes I know I should have used a credit card but my Dad taught me if you can't pay cash for something then don't buy it.
