Make sure you ask the examiner to complete the remaining items on the PV. They do not have to but some (GOOD GUYS) will go through all the items with you. I guess with that comment, I have passed my last PV, HA HA!

[QUOTE=James Gessner (943);825433]At Texas 2014 Regional a good friend ''failed'' the key removal in the off position. He had 15 minutes to repair. Luckily , a NOS 67 only lock assembly was found and installed and all worked well. We trailered the 67 from California to Frisco and back. Thank God, we came home happy. Got the Duntov in Danver National.[/QUOTE

        Yes I remember.

Danny, good luck. If you prepare you have an excellent chance of passing. I have Duntov'd 6 cars and passed 4 PV's my first time out. The two failures were my own fault for not preparing the car correctly. they both passed the second time out. Check every item three times.

              Danny,

Get to know your team leader in advance. Know if they have any hot buttons, things they really expect to have near perfect. OJ or judge for them and observe a PV if possible. Lot of expense bringing a car to an event only to load it back up on a trailer. Talk to others like you have here that have successfully PV'd a 67 435 car (Jaime). Did you restore the car yourself? Or pay a shop? If you did a lot yourself you should be reasonably prepared if something goes wrong. If you paid a restorer it may be a little tougher, but the NCRS has great people and if they can help they usually do. I've seen many a restorer with the owner on a PV day just in case. Bring extra parts and tools. Someone mentioned do a practice run three or four times and then have someone who has been through PV do the test with you. We did a mock PV chapter school on my 65 and a friends 66 with two judges that have been through the process. One said I'd fail on my washers and I spent hours and gallons of fluid correcting it. Finally, just drive your car and know your car. I am surprised on the judging field how many folks don't know how things function... Wipers, washers and the like. People bump the ground off the blower motor turning on the battery disconnect switch and are puzzled to what happened. If you drive the car you'll know it. You'll know what to expect and how to treat it during the drive. And don't forget to check the spare tire air pressure. Don't ask how I know... Sure it is a simple fix, but if something else fails that's two and your done.

                      Danny,

Recommend your purchase the Judging Reference Manual, which answers your questions.
National Corvette Restorers Society! Judging Reference Manual - NEW Ninth Edition! The NCRS Judging System is quite complex- don't go in without a guide! This manual outlines all rules, procedures, and policies pertaining to NCRS judging events held world-wide, conducting an NCRS Judging School, Duntov Mark of Excellence Awards, McLellan Mark of Excellence Awards, Flight Awards, Performance Verification Testing,
