Danny, Michael is correct, all of the qualifiers have to be under your ownership. Past awards don't count when ownership changes. You have to start over again. Only awards that transfer are the Bowtie/Star award(s) and the American Heritage Award.

And, the reason the Bowtie/Star and American Heritage awards transfer with the car is they are / can only be attained ONCE

For a PV remember that Murphy is looking over your shoulder the whole time. Have a knowledgeable judge perform your practice PV for you. Owners have a tendency to overlook small items.

Which brings us to O'Toole's rule! Simply stated - Murphy who claimed anything that could go wrong would, was an optimist.

I remember a great example of that, when John Seely had his fuelie at the Tucson Regional for PV, checked it numerous times before that morning of course and all was well, but when he started it up to start the PV, a huge stream of gasoline shot out of the engine compartment and over the right fender from a broken fuel pump diaphragm. Not enough time, or a lift, to fix that.

At Texas 2014 Regional a good friend ''failed'' the key removal in the off position. He had 15 minutes to repair. Luckily , a NOS 67 only lock assembly was found and installed and all worked well. We trailered the 67 from California to Frisco and back. Thank God, we came home happy. Got the Duntov in Danver National.

Mr. Pantuso you have received very good advice in this thread. But I highly recommend you purchase the current edition of the Corvette Judging Reference Manual and carefully read section 6, NCRS Performance Verification Judging and Awards. There are 10 bullet points there that should clear up most questions you may have. Also section 7, NCRS Duntov, McLelland or Hill Mark-of Excellence Awards.

I further recommend you purchase and read the 1963-1967 Corvette Operations Manual & Performance Verification Test Guide. It is import to understand that things don't just have to work. They have to perform like the "design intent".

Danny, Don't let anyone scare you. I passed the first time after being told on this forum that the average attempt was 3.68 tries. I did spend 14 years getting ready and canceled twice. GOOD LUCK !

Re: Going for my NCRS Duntov

Back in 2013, when I did a PV in my 63, the absolutely last thing that was checked was the operation of the LH vent. I pulled on it and....the handle was connected to....nothing. !!!!!! the wire loop and retainer must have rattled loose on the 500 mile trailer ride. Carlton went for a walk or a coffee or something and I had fifteen minutes to fix it....

When he came back, the interior was a disaster, tools everywhere, the vent grill hanging off....but we pulled the handle and the vent worked, PASSED...
