Not hard to figure out why this young man is grinning so broadly!..... 1957 truly was a glorious year for Chevrolet enthusiasts.

Finally relocated some images of my original owner... the first few were dated November 1965.
Bill, his wife Barbara, and their first born... I could be mistaken, but those are goldline SNOW tires!
As a daily driver, the big block must have been a blast skating through the Michigan winters.

Does NCRS have a collection of photos from past events? I'd like to see those.

This reminds me of looking for cars in the LA Times and Orange County Register when I was in HS and college (late 70s- early 80s). Each had a decent set of Corvettes for sale, enough to justify a separate section for them.

I've been having fun surfing the net... finding stuff I've never seen before.

Here are my contributions to the story. These were taken March of '71, a couple of weeks after I purchased my '69. They were taken by my Dad outside of Fort Totten in Bayside, Queens.

Re: POST OLD PICTURES of CORVETTES HERE - NOSTALGIA

Good pictures Jeff. See my post #97 for these instructions for going into your profile, and changing settings for added attachments to make your images full size rather than just thumbnails.

"If you are finding that when you post a photograph it only shows a thumbnail without a full size image, you can change your settings to fix that.
In USER PROFILE in small tool bar above, My Settings on left side of page, find General Settings in middle of the list, then Miscellaneous Options near bottom of settings in main part of the page, under Message Editor Interface, select option one ENHANCED INTERFACE - Full WYSIWIG Editing. Be sure to go to bottom of the page and hit Save Changes"

Also, if you use Insert Image (the little square photograph icon on the tool bar) to load photos into your post, you will get the full size shot and the thumbnail. If you use the Attachments, or Add Attachments, you will only get the thumbnail.

Another hint for some of you who may not already know and who only have old snapshot photos; take good closeup digital photos of your old snapshots and email to yourself as an attachment. Then open your email, and right click or two finger click on the attachment to enable you to save to your digital photo album. Once your photo is there you can go in and use your digital tools to enhance or crop or sharpen to improve. Then you can attach that image(s) into a post in this thread. There is no need to post your photos in an outside server like photobucket. We want to see your old photos!

                          Don,
I did what you recommended and went through the procedure and when I got to the "Message Editor Interface", I already had the "Enhanced Interface Full WYSWIG" checked off so I guess that when you post you see the thumbnails but when you click it you get the full size.

Good advice, Don... INSERT IMAGE will usually give you the small thumbnail, PLUS the larger image.
No need for any outside photo hosting service... NCRS hosts & retains the images for you!
