I am in need of either a major restoration on my 4160 list 3367, p/n 3884505 DA, date coded 2429. My car's birthdate is November 24, 1965. Based on the date code I am confident that unless the "9" was inadvertently put in to the punch upside down, this carb belongs to 1969. Given that info and my need for a decent rebuild - I was going to go with Eric at VintageCarMuscleParts.com for a complete resurfacing and refinishing. However, given the cost involved I'm wondering if it would be more advantageous to just get a new list 3367 w/o any date code. This way I get a new throttle body with mating surfaces that fit tight all around. The carb I have now - coded 2429 - came with my car when I picked it up in '98.
If I could find a carb that was possibly made for my car what date code / range would I be looking for? Ideas, suggestions?
