Re: Old Corvette Junk Yard photo
In the late '80s, I decided to find the '63 SWC that I bought in '64. I'd sold it to a LtCol USAF from a suburb of Seattle in '67 and hit info on the phone; got him, retired in his home area; told me #2 son had crashed it in '70 and ins. co had replaced it with a '65 when they totaled it but that the carcass was at Lincoln. A couple of months later, I was talking with Noland and he was on his way to Lincoln. I gave him the VIN and told him to ask about it. A month later, Noland told me they'd offered the firewall back, no front frame and just the VIN tag to him for $1250, a special price cause he was Noland. ""No" was the answer.
Fast forward into the '90s and Noland was at Lincoln's and asked about the car again. He was told he was "too late. It sold.".
When Noland died, we had a pact to check every FI car and every ZO6 for that 300HP Daytona Blue VIN. Not yet, but .......
