    Re: What's Changed

I had to re-log in tonight. But I renewed my membership this morning from another computer. That and I also just had two freshly made, warm, oatmeal raisin cookies fresh from the oven. That must have done it.

        [QUOTE=Duke Williams (22045);.............................

This system sucks, especially IE 11, which does all kinds of weird things.

This computer/networking stuff is getting WAAAAAAAY to complicated. Every time you "upgrade" things go to hell in a hand basket. I don't know how the average person can deal with this sh...t. I'm thinking of throwing all the computers away and going back to my phone land line and snail mail.

        Duke[/QUOTE]

I have no clue what IE 11 is. But you make good points about the complications. The old land line wall phone still works and the Postal Service is still in business. We did just fine before the inter web and personal computers. But it also is evident the younger generation lives for their phones as opposed to face to face contact.

Keep up with the changing times, or get left in the dust.
A couple generations down the line people will look back at today's technology and think 'how quaint'.
Internet Explorer version 11. A wonderful web browser that glitches up the VBulletin powered NCRS website.
Chrome web browser operates VBulletin without problems.
Load Chrome onto your PC or MAC and use it for the NCRS website. You'll be glad you did.

Shudda had chocolate chip. I did and my cookies work as well as ever. Don't forget to heat them up.

My virus protection has a little notation on it signified by the numeral 1. I get the following notice by clicking on it.

I have run nothing but Chrome for the last 5+ years. What is the excuse now?

Could be. I run Chrome and I'm always automatically logged on whenever I visit this and many other sites. Like I said earlier, no problem on my end. I wonder if those with issues have the automatic windows update turned on. I had to turn it off as sometimes an update would screw up all my settings and I'd have to "restore" to a date prior to the update to fix things.

                        Log-In effect

Would someone explain to me why logging in to see the cover of the new Restorer "erases" my log-in status to the chat board so that I have to return and log-in to the chat board?

                          Loren,

Same feature when registering for events. Perhaps mental exercise to keep our minds sharp!

Loren, I use Firefox and have no need to log in to see the Driveline or Restorer when I follow the link in John Waggoner's post in the stickies above. I am also able to register for events directly from the drop-down menu without having to log in again. I suspect your Internet browser is not retaining cookies. I recommend you find someone proficient with computers to set up your system for maximum efficiency.

Based on response to my question here:

                              https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...-site-vs-Forum

I suspect that many members have to re-login when they move between the sections of the forum.
I also use Firefox, and regularly pay attention to my cookies.

I frequently have to log back in. Not always, but sometimes. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, so I just do it. No big deal. If this is as tough as life gets, I've got it made . . .
