After being entered without logging in this AM, please let me know what changed by 2:27PM MST to require me to Log In? This would be about 15 occurences in the last three years but it never seems to approach the level of a "question of interest".

Re: What's Changed
I had to re-log in yesterday...an hour earlier I had no problem, then saw the message, if this is your first visit etc...have no idea...happens to me on occasion...and then I have to log in to every page I'm supposed to have access to...maybe they're trying to tell me something...perhaps I'll be replaced!- Top

Re: What's Changed
On occasion, I find I have to log in to sites that I normally don't have to because I utilized the "remember me" feature. Sometimes just a few sites, sometimes every one, including my AOL mail. It usually coincides with an update that requires a restart of my computer.- Top

Re: What's Changed
I had to do it once recently but I assumed it had something to do with my membership renewal which was done this month.
No problems otherwise.

Re: What's Changed
NCRS uses a Member's PC/Mac/Device web browser cookies for the Auto Login.
Depends on how the Member has their web browser configured such as to delete cookies after closing browser, etc. Rebooting the Member's device can also delete a cookie.
Most likey the reason why a Member is required to login is that the Member has the browser configured to delete cookies, closed the web browser and/or rebooted the device. Or if the Member's device web browser cookies gets corrupted.
FWIW, NCRS hasn't changed anything in the discussion board or website regarding login for several years.
BTW, the most user friendly browser for interactive website such as NCRS is Chrome web browser https://www.google.com/chrome/browse...top/index.html
Forgot to include that Virus scanning often is configured to delete history and cookies.

Web browser cookie explanation:
An HTTP cookie (also called web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie, or simply cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is browsing. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember stateful information such as logging in to a website.
Perhaps most importantly, authentication cookies are the most common method used by web servers to know whether the user is logged in or not, and which account they are logged in with. Without such a mechanism, the site would not know whether to send a page containing sensitive information, or require the user to authenticate themselves by logging in. The security of an authentication cookie generally depends on the security of the issuing website and the user's web browser, and on whether the cookie data is encrypted.NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: What's Changed
My old W2000 Professional system with Firefox 12.0 kept me logged on, but it died a few weeks ago, and I'm now on a W7 system with IE 11, and I have to log on every time I visit, but it does keep me logged on to the CF. Go figure.
This system sucks, especially IE 11, which does all kinds of weird things.
This computer/networking stuff is getting WAAAAAAAY to complicated. Every time you "upgrade" things go to hell in a hand basket. I don't know how the average person can deal with this sh...t. I'm thinking of throwing all the computers away and going back to my phone land line and snail mail.
