Maybe someone in the club might step forward with an idea and the talent to bring the idea to life.
Sounds like a good summer job for the grandson. It is shocking how much the kids today just seem to know the latest computer stuff. NCRS should accept help from members kids. Some are really good on the key board, and have a second sense for it. A new way to get the younger ones involved.

      Ed,
I believe that eligibility for Founders Award only requires an article submission, not actual publication.
(NCRS Judging Reference Manual, Section 11, paragraph E).
So you've already met that requirement.
I'm not aware of any calendar/time conditions.

Brian, I knew I bought that manual for a reason. I guess I will read it and follow the bouncing ball. 2018 would will be a good year to attempt
another venture. I will have to expand my bucket list.

I have always thought the Founders Award was pretty cool, and only 276 people have earned it. I always enjoyed the guys who get it joining our road tours and getting the older cars out on the road to the National, for instance. I may try someday, if I can learn to write something anyone would be interested in reading in the Restorer.......

Ed, I apologize for the question, but I am confused. Is the purpose of this thread to gather information from individual members who have achieved the MOE awards, judging level recognition, Bowtie and or Crossed Flags recognition for a database you are developing? If that is your goal, I will be happy to participate. Great seeing you in San Antonio. John

                John,
If you are looking for my end game and reason for this endeavor, it is to write an article for the Restorer, to published all of the great names, by state, who have influenced, supported and encouraged my efforts for the past 18 years and have been my role model which gave me the energy to pursue all of my goals in NCRS. This organization provided me with a vision to excel after my prior career fell apart due to a bad injury. NCRS was the restart of a very exciting and rewarding hobby/career. I consider you a friend and appreciate your support. John I do not know how to develop a data base, it was my 11 year old grandson who suggested Excel. Acquiring the info is not easy, as I have no support as yet, from the great kahunas at the NCRS NET CONTROL.

Ed, Thank you for the clarification. I am so impressed with your dedication becoming a 400 level judge while earning 3 MOE and 2 Crossed Flags awards. I know how difficult it is to achieve those awards. I asked because I have a difficult time talking about myself. Let me help by adding to your database research. The following list was accomplished with my 1992 Coupe. I believe your best computer advisor is your grandson. Good Luck, John.
                  1. McLellan Mark of Excellence, San Jose, 2009
                  2. Crossed Flags, Novi, 2011
                  3. 5th Star Crossed Flags Award, San Diego 2012
                  4. Founder’s Award, Denver 2015
                  5. 400Level Red Hat

Where I am going with this thread is, this last award was the final item on my bucket list that started 18 years ago, the list includes a 400 Master Judge level and I celebrated my 80 birthday on the 26 of July.
Now that I am finished I would like to start a survey of all members. How many members have achieved the following awards:

                    1. Duntov Mark of Excellence
                    2. Mclellan Mark of Excellence and Cross Flag
                    3. Hill Mark of Excellence and Cross Flag
                    4. 400, Red Hat, Master Judge

I believe the number will be very small, as most members have a certain passion for one or maybe two generations of corvettes.
This would be a great club within the NCRS fraternity. This is not an ego trip but a question I have been harboring since I started on this wonderful journey. I will start a spread sheet then report the results.
                    Ed,
                    That might be fun

                    1 Duntov
                    3.Mclellan
                    2 Founders
                    1 Bowtie
                    1 Sign off for crossflag
                    400 master judge

Tony, you are one of those guys that keep me moving forward. It looks like the only awards missing on you vita is Dave Hill MOE, Folz and Master Tabulator. I think you had better get busy if you want to fill your bucket, Ha Ha. One of the most impressive bios I have observed especially the Bowtie that has to be the most difficult, other than a multitude of PV's . I look forward to meeting you at our National in Las Vegas in 2018. You are one of my hero's.

NOW, if you have to exchange damaged parts with another car you own, remove previous owners modifications, and finagle things to make the car more "original", and hope these "things" get through Bowtie Judging without detection, then perhaps it IS "difficult".

A car that is truly worthy of a Bowtie or Crossed Flags Award isn't "difficult" at all. True Bowties breeze right through. Because they should. They meet the criteria for the award with no ambiguity.
That's all true, but unlike a Duntov, for instance, you cannot spend lots of money and time to "make" a Bowtie car. And, in my experience, it takes a substantial amount of knowledge, sharp eyes, and inspection to find one to acquire to take through judging, few qualify, and that is "difficult" indeed. Bowtie Award cars are also much more rare because of the stricter requirements. Through 2014, there were 945 Duntov Awards, but only 135 5 Star Bowties.

Dave, you are right as usual. I found the PV of a C-4 is what makes grown men cry and go bald. Oops sorry Tom. With 2 C-4's it took
3 tries on my 90 and 2 on my 93 ZR-1. My 57 passed the first time. It could have been that Dave Ferguson was the Team leader (stood in for Scott Sinclair, who was snow bound in Canada) who sat in the passenger seat, or it could have been the fact that I purchased the basket case from him.
