    Mark of Excellence Awards

This past July at the Nationals I was able to achieve the Cross Flags Award for my 1990 Silver Blue convertible.
Where I am going with this thread is, this last award was the final item on my bucket list that started 18 years ago, the list includes a 400 Master Judge level and I celebrated my 80 birthday on the 26 of July.
Now that I am finished I would like to start a survey of all members. How many members have achieved the following awards:

    1. Duntov Mark of Excellence
    2. Mclellan Mark of Excellence and Cross Flag
    3. Hill Mark of Excellence and Cross Flag
    4. 400, Red Hat, Master Judge

I believe the number will be very small, as most members have a certain passion for one or maybe two generations of corvettes.
This would be a great club within the NCRS fraternity. This is not an ego trip but a question I have been harboring since I started on this wonderful journey. I will start a spread sheet then report the results.

      Michael,

I totally agree with the Bowtie included! Without a Bowtie I just don't think the club would be complete and who would want a club with a missing award.

It would be nice to know how many 100-400 point Master Judges we have and if you really wanted some more stats brake it down by states. I wonder if that information is available?

                    Gary J.,
I could do that in an excel spread sheet. I think that is a great idea. The only way I know is to inquire from the rank and file members.
I have no idea if the NCRS data folks could provide the info, I know it is there somewhere, but I think a special data recovery software
would have to be written and that is way out of my pay grade and computer knowledge. There is so many ideas I have for this info
it seems impossible. To walk a mile one has to take the first step. I could see this info published in the restorer.

Thanks Gary, I think I will stay 79 until next year, then turn 78. Any person who drives a Corvette is turning their last day clock backwards.
You are number 3 in my data base, see you in Vegas baby.

Ed, you could just keep collecting the info and write that Restorer article, then you could be well on your way to the Founders Award, which you don't have yet. Something to think about.

I would feel almost positive that national judging chairman has all the numbers you seek. NCRS keeps tabs on all kinds of cars and judges information. In fact there is a lot of that info on persons on this web board in the profiles if you care to look.

Mike, I have an article in the pipe line but I believe Vinnie is over whelmed, I am in the Que. I also wrote an article back in 2002 or 2003 that was published. "HOW NOT TO TOW ON A TRAILER". That story is for another day. I do not know if there is a time limit from the date of published to the beginning of attempting a Founders. That sounds like a good idea.

Gene, that would be a herculean effort on Dave B. If I could write code and had the permission to go into the data base I would be more than happy to do so. Maybe I could have my whiz kid, 11 year old grandson write the code. I know how hard Dave B works, I would not think of asking him to do the job. I will just keep plugging away. Maybe someone in the club might step forward with an idea and the talent to bring the idea to life.
