To remove a lock cylinder when you don't have the correct key, isn't i't true that any key for that model of car will allow you to remove the lock cylinder? Does anyone know? Isn't it just a matter of finding and depressing the pin and rotating the cyliner?
Larry, you can't access the pin until you rotate the tumbler to ACC. You can't get to ACC unless you have the correct key. Therefore, in order to remove it you need the correct key.

I just went to the garage and verified how it works.

If it's the used one with a lock cylinder and no key, take it to a locksmith.

Larry - If I remember correctly, the 1116650 Delco-Remy ignition switch was used on some Pontiacs. I will do some checking to confirm. Pete

Larry - The Delco-Remy p/n D1449, GM p/n 1116650 ignition switch is not for a Pontiac. According to the AC Delco Catalog 1A-91, 1985 the winner is the 1964 Buick (All Exc. Skylark, Special). Pete

          Larry,

Here's a few pics of a 63 ignition switch and keys.
Hope you can read the 635 on the switch.
The 650 will function for both the 63 and 64 so dont pass up on one of those.
