If that's a real, well-built "609" pump then you got a killer deal. I bought the best one out of the three Bill Mock had in his shop at the time to go on the '61. Its a PITA changing a C1 pump as most know (unlike C2s) so I was waiting for my repro pump to fail -- and it just won't. So I have an expensive "knick knack" on the garage shelf.

You should post some pics of your pump and confirm its the real thing (maybe you don't want to know). I've seen some cleverly done repros/fakes including some JB Weld work to make numbers/letters conform.

      Do I have a correct water pump for a June 1963 L75?

My casting # is 3859326 with no date with a GM 3 above the casting #. It seems the correct one, but based on what I'm reading here, just a little clarification would be helpful.

      Thanks

      Jerry

L-75 did not use external bypass so neither a '609', '175', or '326' waterpump casting is correct. The 3782608 pump was used for all L-75's.

          Joe,

Thanks for the clarification. I see an earlier reference in this thread for a L76, not an L75

An interesting discussion, as were the others on the topic, but page 106 of the latest '63-'64 TIM&JG is what I am going to follow.
