    70 bolt ID help

I have the bolt pictured below but have no idea where it belongs.

Anyone have any thoughts on where it belongs on my 70?

Thanks, BillNAT Bolt 2.jpgNAT Bolt 1.jpg

What's the thread size and the length (from bottom of head to end of bolt)?

Seems like I've seen these "NAT" headmarked bolts used for bumper, radiator support or frame horn attachment.

Hmm-I wonder if it might be a bolt that holds the front bumper on to the body on the side. GM 427559.

Bolt # 427559 appears in my 1969 Chevrolet Parts catalog (10/68) in Gr. 8.900 and is described as hex head bolt 3/8"-16 X 2" (300-M).

              Hi Dave,

              Hope you are well.

That rules out that location. The bolt is clearly 1-1/2" long.

                Bill,

I believe that the 67-72 fuel pump bolts, GM # 3778526, are 3/8"-16 X 1 1/2" with an attached lock washer but the head of this bolt usually has a ridge around the perimeter.

I checked and the original bolts are there for the fuel pump and the bolts are the indented hex head .

Bill 1-1/2 3/8-16 could be AIR Pump bracket to intake manifold. The outer bumper bracket bolt you thought is a grade 8. Rich.

                      Hi Rich,

Hope you are well. 70 does not have an air pump on L46.

                      Good thought.

                      Thanks, Bill

How about the bolts that hold the gas tank straps at the rear cross frame.

Those were all-thread bolts. They had no un-threaded shank.

                            Thanks Dallas.

I bagged and tagged the bolts holding the gas tank straps and they are reinstalled.

I was thinking it kind of looks like an intake manifold bolt. However all mine were reinstalled and have an A head mark.

                            This is really stumping me.
