Correct starter for 1969 base model

I am doing an off body restore. I have a s/b 300hp. Build date is co4 engine date is 9/27. The tim book indicates that a #8338 with a cast nose would be correct. I also notice that based on my early car build date if the #8361 would work if it had a cast nose. Trying to keep the car close to original for possible judging when complete. Jon pirkle mentioned to me that the 8338 is what i need and that the date could have some wiggle room. Very hard to find one exact. Can someone give me a range of dates that would be acceptable to the ncrs.thank your

The 1108338 is the correct starter. As far as dates go, it's the same as for any other dated component. For NCRS judging purposes, you need one that's within 6 month prior to the build date of your car. Typically, the span would be much less but NCRS allows up to 6 months.

Thanks Joe that gives me some room to find one if John Pirkle does not. Spoke with him in the morning and he said he may have one . Thank youhttps://www.forums.ncrs.org/images/smilies/rolleyes.png
