I searched the archives and was unable to find what I'm looking for. The NCRS Tech Info and Judging guide did not help either. I have 2 mufflers that came off of a '95 pace car (I used to own it). The numbers are as follows. GM 10255648 followed by G13 2390 WLN on left muffler, G13 2390 WRN on right muffler, followed by 4 1 072 5A and 4 1 083 5A. I can find no reference to these numbers. I think the last numbers are julian dates 72nd and 83rd days of '95 (which would coincide with the approximate build date of the car - vin 5112934) but I'm not sure. These may just be replacement mufflers. Any help appreciated.

First question, OEM mufflers were a welded construction to the pipe heading foreward under the body. Svc Replacement were generally clamped foreword of the muffler inlet. Which design are yours?Bill Clupper #618 -

Here is a scan of my notes I made on my new 95; built Dec, 94. My writing not too good even then. Date code: outward embossed letters 3/8" high. Right muffler 10255648 YBR; G13-2390-WRN; 4 1 326-4A. Left muffler same as right except WLN instead of WRN. VIN 9625.

Mark, attached is a photo of the original right side muffler off of my 1995. I do not have a Pace Car. Most of the numbers match the ones you set out.
The Julian Date code is 203 4. This represent July 22, 1994. My 1995 has a build date of August 4 , 1994. This was either the first or second day of 1995 model production.
On page 223 of the 1994-96 Judging Manual, under the Muffler section, it calls for a part number of 10143518. As you can see the number on the two mufflers we are discussing is 10255648. I am presuming, bad thinking, that each year and probably hp have different muffler identifiers. This issue hs been discussed with the National Judging Chairman for the 1990-96 Judging Class.
The Chevrolet Parts Manual shows 10255648 as a muffler part number for the 1995 LT1.
